Bullet Liners

Has anyone had any experience with Bullet Liners?
Bullet Liner ? Spray-On Bed Liner for Truck Beds & Off-Road Vehicles.

On the top of my Leer camper shell the paint is starting to come off in places, because of our well maintained roads here in Southern California, my poor truck takes a literal beating, also the gellcoat has burned through, for the body shop to repair it correctly it would have to rebuilt from the inside out and a new gellcoat applied.

Talking with my body shop, I decided to have the shell covered in Bullet Liner, I have a dealer/installer about a mile from me.

I called him and he met me at his shop way after hours to show me the product, I think it will look nice when I am done.

It is a 2 part process and is sprayed on at around 220*-230* (I forget exactly) It bonds to the base and will not come off, he had pictures of a shell that was destroyed in an accident and although the fiberglass was destroyed, the Bullet Liner coating was still intact.

He says it will be about 1/8" in thickness and he can shoot it so it has a semi smooth finish and he said I should to stick with black.

The best part is that it is way less expensive than to repair and repainting it, he quoted me $400.00 and it has a lifetime warranty.

Hmm maybe I should have my entire truck coated in the stuff, looks like it might be useful when the zombies attack Southern California.

Hi Jim,

Never seen that here, although the process, and the finish looks exactly like Linex Bed Liner that I have on my Dodge and Toyota pickups.

Most likely it's the same stuff, as the patents must have expired by now.

I've had zero issues with mine, and my toyota was installed some 15 years ago. My dodge, installed 3-4 years back is the same. No issues.

When ThrashingCows gets into this conversation, as he will ultimately say the opposite of me, as his experience was horrific. The bozo who did his truck didn't prep the surface properly, and it peeled right off.

Post some pix of before and after of the work.

BTW, the Zombies are already around you. They teach at Berkley....

Depending on the color, the reflectivity of your shell will be affected. If they have white I'd say OK but a dark color such as black will make the temperature inside soar.
