Buckets in a regular cab?
Buckets in a regular cab?
***This MAY be a dumb question but thought I'd ask anyways***
Hey all. Just about to finish a deal on a set of factory 93 buckets/console for my 92 but just wanted to make sure that I can indeed put them in my standard cab. The truck they're in is a 93 extended cab and maybe it's just me but they seem to ride farther back than my bench seat.
Also, I'm 6'5" and most of it is legs, do you all think the buckets would make the truck a little less cramped or make it worse?
And one more thing, seeing as other people out there have done this, what should I take out of the parts truck to complete the swap?
Cheers

If you're 6'5", I'm afraid you're going to be real tight with the bucket seats. The problem is the depth of the back and the height of the seat: combined, these two parameters leave a lot less room to play with than the bench seat does. I've done mine with Ram van seats, I'm 6'-0" and it's tight.
Another thing to consider: if you can, get the seat belts as well, at least the lap belt with the female part of the buckle: reason is that the seat belts for the bench seat do not have a stiffening metal plate in them, so they will lay down on the floor of your cab. PITA to grab everytime you want to buckle up.
Just MY experience...

Do ya think there's enough "meat" in the factory mounts to section/lower the seats so they sit lower to the floor? I guess the next question is if there is enough, would there be adequate clearance in the floor to do it?
What I really should do is just go out to where the truck is and take some measurements but the thing's quite a ways away and it's in a locked compound.

Thanks again
