Bosch ve distributor pump

1993 dually 165000 miles, pump is leaking from inspection plate on engine
block side of pump,a constant seep at idle then more as rpm climbs.
Are the two bolts secureing plate loose? or do i have more problems?
would like to hear if anyone else has or had this problem or any clues
before i pull this pump.

Welcome to DTR! You can get the seal for that plate at any Bosch dealer. The pump has to come off to do it, I believe. With that leaking, you are also losing injection timing, since timing is partially dependant on internal pump pressure, so expect more blue smoke than you're used to. A drip won't hurt things right away, but it could get worse fast and if it does that in the middle of no-where...you get the picture. Keep us posted on your progress and fill out your truck information in the user CP 'signature' section so we know what 'cha got every time you post!

bosch ve leak

You need to pick up that oring from a pump shop and fix it right away i just did one a short time ago the guy had left his house with a full tank of fuel and 40 miles later the low fuel light came on ! He filled it up and drove back home they will push the oring out when the plate comes loose=massive leak and washed all the undercoating off the truck.
You must remove the pump to repair it put the engine on TDC and lock the pump before removal and don't drop the nut into the gear case!

Just jump over the fence here and start reading up on the second Gen's... They have there own list of problems. Vp44 dieing, LP pumps quiting, etc...

I still love my 2nd Gen but I would love to play with a 1st Gen myself...
