Boost and Pyro gauges

Okay, so I don't know what I'm doing. Hate to admit it but it's the truth.
Got a couple of questions that I haven't found the answers for.
1 - Where is the plug for plumbing the boost gauge on a '93. ??? The only instructions I've seen so far are for 94's and up. : I read somwhere I could drill and tap the intake horn.
2 - I had a PacBrake installed a few years ago and it has a plug right after the turbo and ahead of the valve. Would it be okay to put the pryo probe there. At least there wouldn't be any drilling for me to screw up. :-

Re:Boost and Pyro gauges

If you look right below the intake horn, you will see a 1/8" plug on the side of the head. This is where you need to tap into to get your boost readings. Tapping the intake can be done but isnt needed on your 93.

BTW: you can use the TST instructions for the boost gauge install. The 1/8" plug will be almost in the same place as the 12v 2nd gens.

Alot of guys run there thermocouple post turbo. I ran mine 2" back from the turbo on the downpipe up until 2 years ago. I then moved it to pre turbo to get a more accurate reading as the temps can vary from pre to post up to 500*.

Re:Boost and Pyro gauges

Thanks for the info, Monty. I guess I'll go ahead and do the drilling for the pre turbo reading. I seem to always want to take the easy way out.

You know, I tried that 1/8" plug last nite and I didn't think it worked. (1:00 in the morning is not a good time to tinker). Anyway, just tried again. Yep it does work.

Appreciate your help ;D

For those who have problems getting to the plug or whatever.... you can interrupt the boost signal line that goes from the manifold to the AFC housing too...
Just put in a "T" fitting and take your signal from there.
