Wait is that all you did was rev it up? You are not going to build very much boost just sitting there revving the motor. You dont have a load on the motor. What are you seeing going down the road? Go out and drive it and wait untill you have it in your top gear and then mash it and see what kind of boost you are building. Check the turbo does it have excessive play? We need more info? Something doesnt sound right.

Hey buddy,
Good to meet you this weekend. Your truck will not build muck boost without being loaded because it takes heat from the fuel to push it. Since your engine with no load will take very little fuel to just rev up, you get no boost. Plus it just sounds SOOOO good, you have another problem.

Your mechanic has no idea what he's talking about. I've been running a wastegated turbo for 2 years. And like the other guys said, you can't get much boost with no load.

Btw, Btw......I need to pay more attention when i read these things. I put a 1998 hx35w on my truck (w-for wastegated) and it bolts right on. I had to loosten the exhaust clamp at the bellhousing to slide the exhaust back a lilbit, but all else is bolt on. Just get new exhaust and oil drain gaskets and its all good. I'll send you a pm w/phone number if you need help/have questions. -Jim-

I bought a WH1C for $150 off ebay. It has a cracked exhaust housing though so I found one for another $50. I can't wait to get all the other pieces together for it.

Your's is an H1C with either an 18 or 21 cm exhaust housing and no WG. It will only build boost when it's loaded with the pedal down. As long as the bearings are tight there's probably nothing wrong with it.

I think ill take it to southeast power syst. in the morning let a reputable shop look at it AND I just orderd my gauges BOOST&PYRO Autometer carbon fiber and double A pillar mount. To tell the truth I was kinda hoping he was right I was lookin forward to gettin a whx35 it would be cheaper than an injector pump
