I've got a buddy with a 1st gen that needs studs pretty quickly, as he exceeds 35 psi pretty regularly (HX35/HT3B). He's got a set of ARP's, ready to install but he starts a 7/10's work schedule for the next 4 months (don't feel bad for him, he's the envy of everyone in the construction industry right now)

Anyway, I'm hauling it to a shop for him to have the work done. My question is this. What should he expect to pay for labor (ball park) to install the studs?

I literally have no idea what it should cost because all my experience with headstuds is either with Duramax/Powerstroke trucks (super expensive because of the nature of the job) or with 12v Cummins trucks, which many guys do themselves (but he can't because of his work schedule).

Also, do you guys recommend O-ringing also, or would the studs hold his setup fine (50 psi)? How much are we talking to O-ring it?

I know alot of places were charging $300-350 to do o-rings, its about a 2 hour job for a competent machinist who's done them before.

No idea on labor for stud install, I do as much work as I can do myself, including O-rings, head rebuilds, etc...

 

Tim at TRE Diesel in VA, gets $250 for studs, same price
as above for o-rings.
