Auto Transmission kickdown cable
Auto Transmission kickdown cable
Hi everyone,
When I took apart my 1992 W250 club cab to donate it to my 1984 D350 crew cab conversion. I noticed that my "Rebuilt transmission" had a spring attached at the transmission end to assist it's return and a spring at the throttle bracket. Pretty sure this isn't normal.
Would this be a cable issue. (I don't think it is - reason being is the cable slides nicely back and forth when removed) Hence, is this an adjustment within the transmission or an issue with the transmission ? It seemed to operate properly before the tear down.
Any insight from others on what to pursue to remedy this issue is appreciated. Thanks

To me it just seemed odd that it was hooked to the lever end around the ball and the other end wasn't attached to a return bracket on the trans. It looked like something the tranny shop added. I'll post a pic of it. Or maybe they lost the return attaching bracket. Looked hoowky
