Ok I put the scanner on it and it was like I said. It says P_N__ no matter if it is park or neutral. It says _R_D2 no matter what gear you are in other than park or neutral

Does your cruise control work if you have it? Does the speedo work?

Cruise does'nt work but speedo does.I have been chasing this problem on and off for about two months.I have gone over every inch of that truck and read more than my share of posts regarding no od this is the only thing that i can come up with now.I have been a mechanic for 19 years and had my share of strange problems but this one has me baffled.

So it is definitely not working cause of the nss signal not changing and when you get the od to work the cruise will probably start working also unless there is something else wrong. I am not sure exactly how the nss and wiring work.

Well moparnut i have the OD working and my cruise control back. When i started to trace the starter solenoid wire's i remembered i tied in the fuel shut off in to the yellow start wire at relay.Well i disconnected it and my scanner showed the prnd21 to have changed so i simplwy put it on the brown starter feed wire to trigger my shut off solenoid. So the problem turned out to be from my own hands.Lol.Thank's for your assistance.

Hey man that is good to hear I am glad you got it fixed. When you get a minute take a pic of that od module behind the glove box. I never heard of it and my truck must have it also and I can't find it. Thanks
