You would need some type of 3rd link to completely get rid of the leafs, like a track bar or triangulated top link, etc...

 

There is a Ford truck here that has been made to look like tractor-trailer has full air ride suspension. They apparently copied an air ride tractor. I have taken several pictures. Essentially they cut the main leave spring and welded it to a box being then just behind the axle they dropped it down and then extended further for the airbag. This system should eliminate all possibility of axle wrap.

I have a real problem with axle wrap since all mods I thought it was turbo surge at first but now examining tire marks can see approx 6inches of no tread on pavement every 6to10 feet of black marks friend of mine watched when i took off just rolling into throttle & rear end is jumping badly. back to the drawing board I may try & detune or ladder bars going to think about it for a while now that truck is reliable again after flex plate issue
