94-up exhaust system?
I checked with my local exhaust shop and he says he can get a 4 inch system and install it for $450. The catch is it's for 94 and up. If I got the flange adapter for a 94 and put on my WH1C would the rest of the system fit?

The downpipe will come very close to the pinch welded seam wher the firewall angles to become the floor, if it clears at all. I have experimented with this some and I am currently running an HX35/14cm combo in a 91 with a Getrag. Out of 3 downpipes and 2 elbow choices I had, I mixed and matched to get about an inch of clearance, but I plan on something different soon. After the downpipe, you can probably get away with it if you let it hang down on a 2wd.

I'm just wondering if the adapter on the left, if I added one to my system, would allow me to use a downpipe etc... for a 94 CTD 4 inch system.

I had one like the one on the left, and 2 differen ones that clamp to a 1st gen type v-band outlet. Each was slightly different. There were subtle variations in angle/length. Also the combo I tried on my 93 W250/Getrag truck didn't fit on my 91 D250/Getrag. I don't know if it was the difference 2wd vs. 4wd or production variation or what. (Both were mocked up with the same turbo.) Sorry I can't be more helpful, but in 3 trucks I had 3 different fitments.

Why don;t you roll with the Stan's kit? I have heard nothing but good things about it... Just a thought

On a 4-wheel drive truck there will be a problem with the exhaust/transfer case clearance, it needs a jog in the pipe to make it around. 2wd don't have that problem obviously. Other than that is should work. |
I'm looking for an upgrade too and have been emailing the folks over at www.dieselpro.net. They're offering what they claim to be a true 4". Below is my email exchange with them. Not cheap, but that's always relative to me not necessarly you ;)
http://www.dieselpro.net/productDesc.html?prod=3035 -=-=-=-=-=-=- It is a true 4" mandrel bent exhaust system that does not have any flattened or crimped areas. The only area that is not 4" is where it connects at the turbo, about 1" long. I have a 1993 Dodge W250 (4x4) extended cab, automatic transmission with the Cummins 5.9 Diesel. I also am curious if your exhaust is a true 4" from the turbo back or does it have size reductions as some do that reduce 3-3.5". I don't need a muffler as I already have one planned for the install.
