92 IC air intake

Hey guys so my oem cold air hose that comes off the turbo I threw it out a couple years ago when I got the truck because it had a massive hole in it. Have been looking for one ever since and I've never been able to find one on its own. I found a 4" spectre one on Amazon and it had good reviews seems of good quality. What do you guys think anybody else ever gave it a shot? It's extendable and I can cut if I have to as well only problem is because of that lip thats on the box I can't get the boot to fit over it so it's inserted inside instead, but insanely tight. I can hold the whole assembly up holding from the top of the hose. Then the turbo side I'm gonna put a clamp on both sides of the boot. I just want to get rid of the hot air intake I have right now and go back to this got a new wix filter in it so it's all set to get back in.

Heres the one that's on it now. I just want to take it off, clean the filter, oil it, sand the pipe down, high temp paint it, and keep it as a spare.

If you use a K&N or similar in the OEM housing I would go that route since you get better cold air than your current setup.

Maybe it was wishful thinking but when I installed my K&N I noticed a performance boost.

Decent Garage did a video on a BHAF home kit. I got a new AH19037 and red Outerwears prefilter for $40 off Craigslist. Got my aluminum tube yesterday. Clamps and red silicone tube by Friday. I'll have $135 into it.
