'92 D350 questions
Hello- first time post here. I just found out that my father-in-law has a 1992 D350 Club Cab LE with the Cummins diesel. He doesn't drive it much but it seems to be in remarkably good condition with no apparent rust. It's been wrecked a few times and some panels are misaligned but that seems to be the worst issue. The interior is dirty but intact and she starts up every time. It is just so cool looking that I want to get it back in tip top condition.
I have spent a few days looking through the archives on this site but I still have a lot to learn. I took a picture of the cowl tag, is there any decoder out there? Also, could someone tell me what the name of the color is? It's a medium-dark blue, very nice, haven't seen any other trucks with that color.
Any general advice appreciated. I know nothing about Dodge trucks. Thanks.

Sounds like a plan. Are you going to put it back totally stock and in tip top shape? You going to buy it from him? I'm not at home and not sure I have the paint codes but I may have. Try to find the paint code on the tag and someone will decode it for you. There are so many things you can do to it cheaply or even for free to make it perform very well. Is it a 5sp or an automatic? These ole trucks are fantastic for starting up with no problems. A 5sp truck with the free to cheap mods are so fun to drive that you may quit driving your daily driver and start driving this ole ride. Good luck with it.
It's an automatic. From what I've read it should be a A518, right? I still need to learn what "NV4500" means. I'd like to do a small cosmetic restoration and address all the mechanical needs. When all that is done I may look into power modifications.
Do you know what line shows the paint code? I'm used to Mopar fender tags from '68-'74 but this one totally confuses me.

No i'm not sure which line it is. An NV4500 is a 2nd gen 5sp out of a 94 to an 03 or an 04. These trucks originally had a Getrag 360 if it had a 5sp in it. They are good tranmissions but parts are getting scarce but the NV4500 has alot of parts and after market parts too. Well i've messed around long enough I better get going so I can go work on my money pit some while I have the chance. Good luck with it.
