92 4x4 single cab w/48k orig mi. $$$$$$

I need a little help here. I have been pursuing this truck, the owner has agreed to sell it to me. The truck is completly stock, A/T truly mechanically
exceptional. I am trying to figure the right price to offer?? IT needs to be painted, paint is falling off in placecs, no rust, the body is perfect. The only other problem I see, is the headliner is sagging down. They quoted KBB price
range of $4800-$7500 as the price to work with. They expect more for the lo mileage, probably close to $7k??? I figure a good paint job to be $2k, I just can't see offering more than $6500. Are these trucks that valuable???
By the time i paint, DO the mods etc...... I might be able to get a good
2nd Gen. ARE 2nd Gen CTDs better trucks. What to do????
Thanks in advance

Bryan

there is a guy locally here with a 93 4x4 dually asking $13,500 and i think he'll get it! Now i personally wouldn't pay that much for it. but if i could get $13,500 for my truck i'd sell it in a second. i will say i think 1st gens are awesome. but you can make some serious power with a second gen as well. if paint is the only problem i'd say that the truck is well worth $7k the way they are selling, again i wouldn't pay that much but i don't have a lot of money and don't mind a truck with more miles. i will say if i was gonna pay a ton for a truck i'd probably go second gen (actually i'd just spend it on 2 or 3 first gens, lol).

You can't go wrong with the 1st gens it seems. I just seen 2 close up on the auction site one for 11k and the other for over 13,000(if the people have the money and pay thats another story). It sound like its a solid truck just looks rough. So it has low mileage, 200k is low if you ask me for these trucks. I honestally would not go jacking the price up for the low miles. Let people who don't know better pay more for trucks with low miles. I say your better off with a diesel that was used more like it should have, long and hot not short and cold. Anyhow I vote for somewhere in between 5000-6000 since it sounds like all it need is paint to be nice and no body work(rust dents etc). I think your right by not going any higher than 6500. At that point you could probally tack on a few more bucks and find something with nice paint, a few more miles and ready to go. Also I'm in the midwest, location is huge factor in the values of these trucks. There are atleast 20 people on here that would have a hard time paying more than 4k for that truck where they are at. Thats my 2 cents.
