2nd gen intercooler in 1st gen?

has anybody done a second gen intercooler in a first gen if you have how have u done it

you are a life saver thanks i picked one up today and every one tells me i cant do it do you have to cut the frame at all

No the 3rd gen intercooler you have to cut the frame.

the 2nd gen one will work and be a HUGE improvement over no i/c

when i set my intercooler on the frame it sticks 8inchs above the radiator so how do i do this

Follow the sticky at the top of the forum. VERY indepth and will explain everything for you. There is a fair amount of fitting to be done. Its not that bad..

Are you sure what you have is a 2nd gen intercooler? They are really not much taller, if any, than the 1st gen.

Simple. Measure the height. 2nd GEN 12V. 15.5 tall. 2nd GEN 24V 16 inch tall. That would be AS mounted from top to bottom. That should give you what you need to know for spec's on what you have, to what you need. Your AC will be fine...

2ndGen inlets- close to the bottom/ top, depending on how you mount it.

3rdGen inlets- near the center, top to bottom.
