2nd or 3rd gen bed fit on 1st gen?

didnt find anything in search. Anyone know or better yet have any pics?

I've seen a pic or 2 on here of a 1st gen w/ a 2nd gen bed on it. Kinda weird looking. Seen a few on Flebay, CL and autotrader as well.

I bet a 3rd gen bed would look ok. DOn't know if the lines would line up. The 2nd gen beds look odd.

DON'T DO IT! They look horrible.

ADMOPARMAN 02-10-2010 06:33 AM

Seems like this comes up every few months... Looked gross then, looks gross now.

I would imagine it'd be lame, but the one that kills me more than anything is when they take a 68-72 Chevy or GMC pickup and put a 88-98 Chevy stepside bed on, here's a couple of other X-amples...

should've left the cab and the bed separate. I don't see that holding up too well. I like the chevy emblem right next to the dodge tailgate though.

I hate when people do that. However, I have seen pics of the black chevy before and have to say it works well on it (IMO). What kills that truck is those wheels.

I have to agree with you on both accounts on that one those wheels were hideous when they first hit the market.[laugh]

As for the international pic with the flareside bed as I was looking up pics lastnight I found that one, I think it should be the poster child for this topic. [yuk]

Step side beds look pretty funky as they come from the factory anyway and a total waste of bed space.

By using a decent paint scheme and maybe striping you could make it visually blend together even if it was a total mismatch.

Was or is that a Blazer?
Looks like the bondo is cracking behind the cab

Is it just me, or is this truck a COMPLETE mutt? 68 fenders/marker lights, 68 or newer cab, 67 hood and grille, 90's stepside?https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...4&d=1265864301

I think the stepside kinda works on this one. The only step sides I really like are the Little Red Express trucks though.
