1992 one ton

has anyone experinced leak problems on there first gen trucks on the AC canister that bolts onto the pass fender? i changed the gaskets on both sides of the canister. problem is the bolt is offset to the gasket that titens the seal. thus it is cocked a little, seems a pour design.

Yes. It is a poor design. There is a liquid sealer you need to put on the gaskets that will stop the leaks. A good A/C shop should be able to provide it. If they can't let me know and I'll go find mine and tell you what it is. I got mine on Amazon.

ok thanks so much. i just put a bracket on the opposite side this am to align things better, hope it works. however that bieng said i will try and get some sealer for the gaskets as you say thanks again.

If I remember correctly, I used two o rings instead of a single.

actually these did nor have 0 rings but had very still gasket material in them.

Yes I think you're right, now that I think about it.
I did put a o ring on both sides, no more leaks.
