That is a awesome plan.
My daughter and I spent a lot of time in the shop during the long winters building some cool [at least to us] Cummins powered Dodge stuff when she was younger. Now that she is 23 she still comes over and tinkers on projects in the shop. She also goes to a bunch of car shows [5 days of Carlisle a year] and Sunday drives with me.
We have been SLOWLY working on my old ‘69 Barracuda for her to drive. We got the 360 / A-833 4 speed pulled last spring, but did not touch it all summer. I had it on the road till the year she was born. I have stored it in the back corner of my shop most of the years since then.
I would have loved to get to turn some wrenches, have a chance to weld, use an oxy./acetylene torch when I was a kid. Instead I just bought a Dodge truck 30 years ago. it was more like e slow motion crash style of learning.
Enjoy the time on the go cart with your boy, and you are correct he will remember it forever.

MoPowa, What you and your wife are doing is awesome, you are building true American kids that will go forward in life with an attitude that will stand them throughout their life. Are you going to do a KISS build? Briggs and Stratton style that he does most of the work on?

Hehe, we are going full out fun/silly build. He’ll get the best of both worlds, do most of it himself, and a fun go cart that can grow with him. Will post a little on here when we get started.
Appreciate that! We are trying to raise humans that can help turn this sinking ship around. Too many irresponsible adults looking for handouts, not nearly enough world builders that can take a dream and breathe life into it.
Took it for a drive, was really curious to see how well the turbos lit. They lit really well, considering I have not tuned anything at all.
Running much better now that I found the issue of oil from the turbos in the intake.

Oil leaks from the turbo will do it.
Did it make a big mess in your intercooler before it got to your intake?
It is about the best case scenario for that grey smoke you mentioned the other day when you started it up. Way better than piston rings.

Yea, it sure did! Had a 4 gallon of brake clean, and poured half of it into the intercooler, to clean it out, as well as all the tubing. Took the compressors off as well, and cleaned them.
Your right, all things considered, it was the best situation.
Still running a little hazy, even when warm. Think it just needs a good break in, aside from just holding it at 2000.
