I think the factory owners manual says not to tow with the Gen Zero Mitzu just like the new SRT10 truck. My buddy has a truck and the manual.

First reason I bought mine!

The cowl cracks, steering box cracks, my hole bed is riddle with stress cracks! What the heck?!

I will have to say I love the Limited slip diffs along with the entire drive train. I think they look cool and old school though.

My '78 has a slant six that I think is rated at 125hp, and it goes ok. It's a really light truck. Chrysler was in cahoots with Mitsubishi even back in the 70's, which is why they've got that engine.

They were also "in cahoots" with Nissan in the early 70s; there was an article or two in Popular Science about upcoming availability of a 6-cyl. Chrysler/Nissan diesel.

One really cool thing about the 1978 mitsu diesel dodges is that they have a stock "hydroboost" brake setup... no vacuum master cyl... no vacuum pump either for that matter and diesels don't make vacuum obv.. hence the hydroboost setup.. there is a good picture of it on the ebay ad:

Exactly. My dad and I have never had a roof rot out on a 73-87 chevy pickup or the GMT400 trucks (88-98). There good trucks and so are the 87-97 fords as long as its an F350.

Yeah, someday when I have the money I'm gonna pull the 6BT in mine and put it in something large, vintage and industrial/solid. An old Ford F600 utility truck would be cool, but I'm kinda partial to old Chevys, myself.

I have never had problems with the Dodge trucks until I got into these early 90's D-series. But hey, all makes and models have their own special little problems lol. It just depends on what you like and what you know about em!!

No need for that, they come factory like that. You can keep You 6bt for a spare if You ever need it.

What kind of motor did the 60s and 70s utility trucks like the F600s come with ? Something comparable to the 6BT in terms of power, fuel efficiency and engine reliability/ longevity ?

I think its the newer f's that had the 6b. Most of the older f's I have seen had the FE big block gassers. 361,391's.

Man, there's a 1975 f600 bucket truck that supposedly runs, right up the street from my house for $1500. Oh, how I wish that the economy wasn't so rotten right now.

Wonder how much work that would be ?
