Good luck to you. I like those old trucks. I had a '86 (iirc) gasser 4 door. Seats were like couches and all kinds of headroom.

Wanna make it ride better make it a Longbed the longer wheel base does make a difference and turning is no different with cross over .good Looking Truck the nice thing about a first gen set/up is it will all bolt back into Place .

Yes the diesel and gassers use the same body and interior parts...other then the HD suspension, and diesel specific drive train parts. The engine and dash wiring is different enough if you want to use the Diesel specific engine control center. If not then you could probably make a gasser wiring system work.

Wow a whole floor board swap...interesting solution maybe!

Yea Floor boards are rusted out in areas. So I got to thinking, checked for parts, and solved 3 problems. Install New 4th gen floorboard and cross-rails-solves mounting cab to new frame. Solves rusted out floor boards, and Solved the need for making new holes for 4th gen Laramie seats to be installed and direct bolt in. Add a 2" Body Lift to Clear the SAE Bell housing and tranny I will be Using behind torque monster going in front of it.

Better Ride Won't be a Issue. Ram Offers Factory Air Ride Suspension all around for 2013 or 14 I remember seeing/reading about it to help keep their 30k tow capacity, so I will be adding that accessory as well to help with the additional weight up front even tho I will be running new 7500lb front axle as well.

p.s.--Not a fan of Long beds, the 6'4" is plenty for me as the trailer got plenty of room, and shorter wheelbase makes it easier to fit in the garage lol

Also If anybody is interested here is some Top-Notch Sound Deadner that I will Be using on my cab Inside and out to make it as quiet as possible along with the Padding they offer to put down on top. Not Cheap but it Be great for floor, inside doors etc

Which spectrum also works as rust protector.

Then I will prolly also install this on top of the spectrum.

For Those of you have built a crew cab-what did you do for a headliner-or did you just leave it painted? Thanks

Been a while since I been on here, just been searching for a good Donor truck, and actually got a front clip with interior minus the frame, axle, and drivetrain since I won't be using any of that. Its a 92 LE which I found extra few goodies in the glovebox since it was a 1 owner truck. Heres some pictures to follow---Now I can start dismantling cabs and modify firewall, start building a solid foundation for the cab to ride on.

Figured out how to post pics...Just need to get the driver kick panel and headliner front trim piece and find a parts 80-85 truck for the center post between doors for trim pieces(Did they even make em?)
