It was very labor intensive, I,m guessing 20 to 30 hours total (maybe more). After sanding, I would do a coat every evening. I would do a section at a time and put about 5 coats on.

Two schools of thought

It seems there are two schools of thought at play here:

1. Get some color on my peeling, faded, rusty truck, cheap.

and

2. Make my truck look good now and in the long run.

In my humble opinion (I hate acromyms) all fresh piant applied properly, or color sanded for hours upon hours, looks great. The true test is in three, then in five, years.

I am in the middle of painting the '95 in my signature. When I am done, I will have right at $500 invested. This includes the gun and top quality 2-stage paint. I will have about 20 hours into it, but not all of it scrubbing the truck with a sanding block.

yea i hear ya ill prod. go w/ 1 stage acrylic enamel and borrow a booth again it seems to last about 5 years. "past my attention span though" ill be bored w/ that color in less than 2 yrs and be paintin again maybe ill go orange?

first off if your refering to me for the peeling paint that was paint shop fault guy got fired for it
2nd aint no way there is going to be a paint that lasts five years around these parts
original last about 7 if well taken care of
