Two schools of thought
It seems there are two schools of thought at play here:
1. Get some color on my peeling, faded, rusty truck, cheap.
and
2. Make my truck look good now and in the long run.
In my humble opinion (I hate acromyms) all fresh piant applied properly, or color sanded for hours upon hours, looks great. The true test is in three, then in five, years.
I am in the middle of painting the '95 in my signature. When I am done, I will have right at $500 invested. This includes the gun and top quality 2-stage paint. I will have about 20 hours into it, but not all of it scrubbing the truck with a sanding block.
