Who's got the most miles on a 12V?

Anyone with over 500K on there 2nd gen?

I know there was a story a while back of a guy who went over a million. I would imagine there has been plenty more since then.

signature600 12-26-2006 04:48 PM

ddestruel 12-26-2006 09:52 PM

i cleared 400k on one, its still going in central valley

9512vCTD 12-27-2006 12:10 AM

174k here and still running strong..

54larry 12-27-2006 08:01 AM

A friend in Modesto CA

has 464k on a 91 CTD; it started puking oil out the back of the motor and he was sure it was the rear main or something equally un-economically feasible to fix. He gave it to his 17 year old son, thinking they would find a used gasser to put in it, and the kid figured out that all it was, was a frost plug in the back of the motor. I think the repair part cost 2 or 3 bucks.

Now the kid is putting on a 4" lift kit and lights and he is going to paint it. I have no doubt that thing will be running when we are all dead and gone, or when the oil runs out, whichever comes last.[guitar]

GAmes 12-27-2006 10:01 AM

I should have 500k on mine by March. When I started transporting 3 1/2 yrs ago it had 138k. A guy who works for the same company has over 1,000,000 on his 96.

b.lee 12-27-2006 11:03 AM

I got 357k on mine and running strong.
I just bought it w/ 355k.
I am the second owner.

The only 'Con' is it has the usual bottom of door rust on it.
The rockers are good, but the doors are shot.
and the TC doesn't quite lock up how I would like it to either.

SmokinRam 12-27-2006 11:06 AM

820

I have a local guy with 820,000 on his 96 and still going strong. So far the only issues has had were a starter, a lift pump, and had to rebuild the NV4500. And the truck tows HEAVY almost every day.

TireHauler04 12-27-2006 03:53 PM

..

377k on mine...and it's life from 1998 til 2002 was ALL highway miles, then put to work as a pool table delivery truck.I got it this year with 374k on it.

jlipskoc 12-27-2006 08:34 PM

on http://www.horizontransport.com/Pick...asp?Make=Dodge , there are dodge owners, two of them have 1 million miles

93w250 12-27-2006 09:02 PM

txdodge97 12-27-2006 11:35 PM

My dads 96 has 505,000 and one auto tranny replaced last yaer and tows just about every day. Mine 134,000 [laugh]

Mainemike100 12-28-2006 06:40 PM

Only 370,000

Only 370,000 on mine, lots of around town driving though, drivers seat and door almost ready to fall out. Cummins engine still going strong. Guess I'll have to find another truck to transplant the Cummins into.

Dodge5.9 12-29-2006 10:11 AM

mine is just getting broke in at 155K

steverctx 12-29-2006 02:37 PM

I guess I need to drive mine a little more...only 247K on my '95. I'm the original owner, so all of the miles are mine. Sure makes me feel good to hear you guys talking about these trucks going that many miles.

AllPlay 12-29-2006 07:30 PM

98 12 valve here with 109,000. I need to drive more.

Pride & Joy 12-29-2006 08:29 PM

105K on my 98 12V and still going strong. Only been in the shop three times - a new headlight switch, new wheel bearing/rotor, and oh yah.... the new paint job courtesy of a hit and run driver that caused a 5 car pile-up![verymad]

wtmtnterror 12-29-2006 10:08 PM

Another baby here only 126k.....[laugh]

but it's been pushing 300hp for about 75k....[guitar]

Lots of people putting up some very impressive numbers here.

Sooooo.... where is the competition at? Anyone heard any high numbers on the duramax? or the 7.3? [laugh]

I have seen a D-Max with about 300k, but the owner traded it for a Ford after his 10th time in the shop for injectors. There are a bunch of 7.3s over 500k in the transport business.

WHen i got rear ended in SA

a 99 F450 tow truck came to yank the jeep from my back of the truck, the Tow truck had 565K miles on it... and it was a 7.3

Sweet!

Dusty Ratcliff 12-30-2006 05:51 PM

I have a whopping 96,000 miles on my 97', & about 132,000 on my 01', only had the 97' for a few months, I picked it up with around 87,000 on it, I got alot of catching up to do don't I??????? LOL, Dusty

vette95 12-30-2006 09:03 PM

My father in law's is pushing 447,000 and it runs perfect. Hauls the hay and John Deere 3 times a week. It's a 92 350 dodge dually that has a custom 3ft stretch frame w/ 12ft diamond plate bed. Everything is original except center link in front end and tranny overhaul at 300,000 by me. Fires on the first crank everytime.

96_12V 01-01-2007 11:53 AM

Just under 329,000 right now. Have done some major suspension work laterly, and hope it goes to 450k in the next few years.

Need95-00CTD 01-01-2007 12:51 PM

230K just rolled past on my trip down to Florida...

Harley86 01-02-2007 07:30 AM

Only 285 K

On my 97 3500

The KDP just about got the old gal at 135K and again at 284K but survided both times.

1 st time took out the gearcase cover but missed all the timming gears

2 nd time after the KDP resting in the oil pan for 150K it wore a hole in the
pickup tube and got sucked into the oil pump ouch !!!

WOW!............ :o

robert chilton 01-02-2007 08:34 PM

I guess at a measley 250k on the odometer I need to take a road trip. Fires every time and runs like a banshee. Not bad for a truck that can still knock down 21.5+ on the interstate.

clarkoh 01-03-2007 08:32 AM

213k on my 92. Haven't used it much in the last 3 years, though

Hmmm.....Guess I should tab that sucker soon. [dummy]

I have had the kit for nearly eight months now.....[laugh]
