What's this truck worth
I know this is my first post but I have been lurking and learning for awhile. Finally found a truck I am interested in. Wanted to know what you experts thought. It has a new tranny (built to factory spec) and seems to be pretty clean. I wanted a 5 speed but I really won't be pulling anything real heavy. It will be a work truck for my lawn business.
He says $9500 cash will buy it. Does that sound like a good deal? Also, is there anyone around this area that would be willing to go look at the truck for me. It is about 170 miles from where I am at.
Thanks in advance for all advice and help!!!

id get it. about a year ago a paid 14k for mine but its was still a virgin and only 57k miles on it prettymuch same exact truck but mine is a 97. even though its a work truck i would grind the fuel plate and slide it forward a little for some extra goose while youre towing. Fuel plate alone with 35" tires i was towing a loaded 16' V-nose with up some big mountains we have here on the east coast with no problems at 70-75mph. as long as there arnt any head gasket leaks i'd say you cant go wrong. wether or not its a good price it depends on the mileage. 12 valves in my opinion are the best out of all the 5.9 motors, mainly for the p7100 injection pump aka "the million mile pump".

That truck seems slightly overpriced to me, especially for Texas.
I bought my 97 SLT Laramie from a Dodge dealer here in NC with a little over 270k on it 3 years ago for 10500 and it was an immaculate, loaded up, one owner truck with all records since new.
I would say somewhere closer to 8500 would be a deal, but I suppose depending on the actual truck 9500 might be acceptable.

To be honest, I'd look for an auto truck that doesn't have a new tranny built to stock specs for 5 grand, take the difference, and get a built tranny put in. Stock automatics are not the best, to put it nicely. I bought a 94 with a freshly built auto for 5 grand. 3 months later I was getting the tranny replaced.

Thanks for the replies. The truck has 214k on it. I was thinking the price was a little high but didn't really know what people were buying these for.
