whats a good torque converter?
tranny went bad on my recently purchased 98 12v. i am having it rebuilt right now and need some opinions on witch t/c to put in it. i am also putting an aurora 3000 turbo on it so i want some thing that will hold up. i mainly just drive it to work, but sometimes pull my 4000lb boat. any help would be great and also where should i buy my t/c.i have seen some triple discs on ebay for 600 bucks but dont know if i should trust them
Hello,
You will hear a lot of opinions on here. A lot of people like the Goerend transmission upgrades. I have also heard a lot of good things able Suncoast. ATS doesnt seem to have the best customer service track record and it seems as though people have had troubles with some of there transmissions. But overall, you will hear that a local transmission specialist is probably be the best as it is always nice to be local and have the troubles looked at quickly.
So, after all of this: I wouldnt recommend any cheap converters off ebay. I think you should look into a goerend torque converter either the triple or single disk. They offer a lifetime warranty if you pay a little more. Either way, there are a lot of companies that offer high quality products. A little searching will get you far on these forums. (I have learned a lot off of them).
