What to do to eliminate all the water inside motor and oil pan, and all the oil inside radiator and cooling passages.

I intend to put new Rotella 15w40 with new cheap filter, runt motor until hot, drain oil/change filter, refill new Rotella and Wix filter, run for 200/300 miles, dump everything again, then do last oil change and keep it until due.

But what about cooling system ? Does flushing with hose works good ?

 

Cascade automatic dishwasher detergent.



Throw a few scoops in radiator.... run until warm. Drain.


Fill.... add scoops... run till warm.... drain.


Fill.... add scoops... run till warm.... drain.


Fill. You should be pretty dang clean by this point. If not. Do it a couple more times.

Go to a truck shop and get some Nalcool , or go to Cummins and get some Restore and flush the system out with that. get some SCA also if you bomb your truck to protect the cylinder coolant walls. ask them for coolant strips so that you dont overdo it with the SCA "supplement coolant additives" to go with the premix ethylene glycol antifreeze , stay away from the OAT antifreeze DC likes to use.

 

I ended up flushing my cooling system about 7 times with automatic dishwashing soap to get the water to finally come out nearly clean. I had REALLY oily coolant though.
