One more question about this subject. If an engine had blow by due to needing a rebuild wouldn't it be smoking out the exhaust real bad? Or more then usual? My enigne is all stock and to be honest, it doesn't smoke much at all. Even at start up.

If adjusting the valves doesn't cure the blowing out the dipstick trouble, you can have a compression check done. That'll tell you more about the condition of the motor.
Also, there was a post recently about the vacuum pump dumping into the crankcase and causing excessive blowby, that could be your problem also.

I figured if it was important they woulda put it on better. I guess now my engine will look like it is leaking oil? Any idea how to get it to go back on (if I can find the hose), maybe I'll put a longer one on to get it toward the rear of the vehicle.
Very enlightening discussion of how to acutally measure blowby. Thanks!
be careful routing this into a different area. with the aerodynamics of the truck it works where it is and at that angle. You don't want to put it in an area or angle where the air will be "stuffed" or "drawn out" at high speeds. also, don't change the length because this can alter the pressure.
