Ok I dont know what else to look at. Problem is brake light in dash stays on always, I have replace the speed sensor in the rearend. I have checked the fluid, I have looked at the switch for the emergency brake etc etc and still cant find the problem Ohh by the way its a 98.5 24 valve. any help is appreciated.

Oh two other things I should mention no make that three, The speedometer didnt work now it does (speed sensor i assume) the cruise control doesnt work either. And I use to have a problem with the whole instrument cluster cutting out every once in while. I have fixed that problem as there was one screw missing to bolt the cluster up got a new one and cleared that problem up

 

Not sure about some of this, but I know on my 12 valve (mechcanical throttle cables) there was a recall on the throttle & cruise control cables & linkage. There were also some other recalls on the cluster & gauges. Worth calling your dealer - it's a free repair if so...

Try disconnecting the batteries for 15 minutes and see if it clears the codes and the light goes off.
