water in fuel light on?
water in fuel light on?
Is it common for these lights to come on and stay on? I dont think the fuel has water in it because the truck is running fine and I drained the fuel filter and there was not any water in there. so I was just wondering if the sensor goes hay wire sometimes or if the light stays on sometimes? If so what can I do to fix it.
Most common cause of the light staying on is water in the connector. Usually happens after washing the engine or driving though deep puddles.
You can disconnect and dry the connector.
Swab it down with dielelectric grease if you don't want it happening again.

When the sensor goes haywire it fails to light- never the opposite. Make sure you have the water out then follow Infidel's post.
Bearing in mind DC and Cummins want the sensor to be changed with each fuel filter changing....
