Violent miss/shudder from engine under heavy load at 55 MPH +
1995 Ram 2500 5.9 Cummins 5 speed. At time terrible miss under load. Put in neutral, engine revs high then dies- no idle. I turn key off for about 30 seconds and it re-starts and all is normal.

fuel problems, plugged filter or something- what you describe is classic fuel starvation. while I have never ran my dodge dry what you describe is exactly what my friends john deere 855 and my vwi diesel does when i ran them dry.
