my vacume pump seal is leaking. what all is involved in replacing it and what kind of timeframe am I looking at.

 

Theres a dude on ebay that sells a complete repair kit with an instructional DVD for $60 Money well spent if your not to sure on your abilites or just are too lazy to track down all the parts (Me) needed. Sells under Ramtrans1 Reputable guy.

 

Call Cummins. They sell a kit with the seal, o ring and timing cover gasket for less than $10.00. It also comes with instructions. Should take a couple of hours to do. Here are some instructions you can look at before hand. Click

Mine was the seal from hell , I was able to do mine in under an hour ... I ran into a problem with a grove that was worn into the powersteering dog ...if yours has a grove make sure you space your seal back enough that it has a new surface to ride on , other wise that seal will be distroyed when you fire up your engine .
If you do a search on here ... I have a ton of posts with info on the seals ... and I do think a gentleman posted that there is a cummins seal thats availible ... but no matter what you get make sure its a viton seal .
