Question u joint tightened up road wander?

Replaced right front u joint today. When I drove home, I would have swore that some of my wander had been reduced. How could that be?

Well, I dont know what it would've been. Everything I took loose, I had trouble with. Rusted, dirty and very tight. I noticed the u joint in a dry, fixin to go out, condition. Of course, after that, I noticed every little bobble, bump and thump it made, especially during cornering. I found/repaired no suspension or steering parts at all. I guess this will go under the "magic" column and consider it a bonus

with the old u-joint it was probably binding and not allowing smooth turning. its a common trait with bad front u-joints and vehicles with no hubs.
