My brothers 1994, has a gremlin...

The truck will sometimes start and run fine,,, sometimes it stalls,,, sometimes it has a loud knock comiming from the fuel pump area, its hard to tell if it the pump or something close, you can feel the fuel pump through each of the high pressure lines, but cant really feal the knock in them...

He has fixed the overflow valve, and the solenoid.

The knock is loud, and sounds like hitting aluminum with a small hammer..

Any ideas????

He is going to take the pump off, and send it to a shop for testing, but I said I would ask here first...

If he takes if off, are there anything specific he should do? any upgrades??

mine did the same took me forever to finaly change the pump. the way i found my problem was to loosen the inj lines when the truck is doing the cutting out.
and i found that it was bearly getting any fuel on last cyl, i must have had some water in my fuel at sometime because the plunger on the pump would get stuck.
my truck would run fine for weeks ,and then it would do it. so it took forever to find sound like u have same problem..

Intermiten troubles really suck,,, I am dealling with the death wobble on my 99, but i can go over the same bump and make it do it, so one thing at a time, and I should be able to narrow it down...
