got to putting the 47re back together today but i think somethings missing. the end play on the input is way too much. the atsg manual isnt helping me much. checked the thickness on the thrust washers and its all where it should be. only thing i could think is im missing a thrust washer somewhere. ok so ive gotten the overrunning clutch put in the back, then the low/reverse drum, then the plastic looking washer, then snap ring. it there something else that goes between here and the assembly with the planetary sets in it?

 

is your overdrive unit on the trans while ur checking end play if its not u will get better than a half inch. the overdrive unit has to be on it b4 u check endplay

 

i ran into a problem like this with a jeep trans with the 5.2 magnum in it awhile back.

But a lil off topic. cj360trider, is your name refering to a honda cj 360? I had one of them, along with many outher 360 hondas. I love them 360 hondas!!

I ran into a problem with the silly little ring on the back of the intermediate shaft, had one that was worn and allowing too much endplay.
