transmission dipstick tube broke
looking over the truck today I found the transmission dipstick tube broken, about 18" from the top. There seems to be a connection point, maybe a weld where it attaches to a bracket. Does this need to be replaced as one complete new piece? I was thinking about putting some type of tube, maybe heater hose for a temporary fix, over both pieces to seal it up, any suggestions? Thanks.

Mine did the same thing, broke right above the bracket that bolts to the block. The "T" handle for the dipstick was sitting on the turbo and melted. Got a new tube from dodge for $13.00.

I ordered a new tube & seal. So the old tube I just lift or pull striaght out? same with the old seal? Is there any hidden things, or is this as easy as it looks? Thanks again. Ken
