TRANSFER CASE SHIFTER NOISE

i remember reading somewhere that there are several fixes for the noise/hum/buzz that comes from the transfer case shifter. this noise occurs while driving -i believe it occurs mostly between 1500-2000 rpm. if anyone has this info, please help! i'm changing all of my fluids today plus some basic maintinence and i'd like to take care of it too. THANKS!!

I think you might be looking for this. http://www.dodgeram.org/tech/troubleshoot/Problems.htm Scroll down the page a bit. I took an ordinary exhaust flange bolt spring (looks like a small valve spring), compressed it and inserted into the space below where the stock spring is. The ends of the stock spring hold it in place. It pushed the shifter towards the passenger side and got rid of the buzz.
