There's a 6-speed on ebay. Not sure if it will fit a '90 though. Check it out. 6-Speed

Re:F'n tranny

That 6-speed you listed... the guy selling it will let it go for $995.00.

Re:F'n tranny

if the auto tranny in the 94-02 was junk at the max of 235 that was in 02. Then the sam tranny on the 03 with 250 hp is junk also. How will it hold up with the added HP. Has anybody had a chance to really put some miles on the new 48re tranny? I want an auto but I really want an auto that will hold the stock hp for more than 100k

Re:Tranny

IMO, Dodge can't build an auto that will hold the torque of the Cummins. If I had it to do over again, I would still buy an auto, But it would have been upgraded a lot sooner.

Re:Tranny

100,000 miles is the expected life of an Auto. Anymore than 100k is borrowed time from previous care.

Re:Tranny

My auto is just about to turn 105k miles. The unit is still doing fine and shows no problem signs. The valve body and tc upgrades were done at 73k. The tranny was opened and checked out while doing upgrades and it was ok. So far, all is well.

Ok, now that I have expressed my displeasure. What do I need to know about re-building this unit to help it stay together? I have a 90 727 from a gasser, but I assume that there are differences besides the housing. ???
