Timing gear case bolts
Timing gear case bolts
Hi guys,
Can anyone tell me how many bolts hold the the timing gear case in place? as I'm tabbing the kdp and would like to check the torque values on these bolts and I don't want to miss any.
I have read some where that some of these bolts where found loose and on some occasion had drop out causing just as much damage as the kdp.
I just want to make sure that I get them all checked, so far I have found 3 including the one that is used for the tab.
All help apprecaited____________redmist

Re:Timing gear case bolts
I believe there are five under the gear cover: one beside the KDP, one down by the oil pump, and three behind the cam gear. I have modified a 10mm open end wrench to tighten these three through the holes in the cam gear. If you bar over the engine, and use a small mirror, you should be able to see them.
