Ticking?????????

OK Guys I have just changed my lift pump strainer, tank strainer, fuel filter, air filter and ajusted the valves it runs like a new truck. Plenty of power again. but yesterday I was standing behind it with it idleing I can hear a ticking. I can only hear it at the back of the truck sounds like maybe in the tank area. the work was done about one month ago. I read on here about a pump in the tank is that right I did all work except the in tank strainer. a good mech friend of mine did that. all help is app. thanks

That's the excess fuel that is used for cooling and lubricating your injection pump chattering past the overflow valve back to tank. Totally normal.

Nope, no pump in the tank on a 12 valve. The only lift pump you have is the mechanical piston-style pump mounted to the block.

Would you hear that chattering or clicking if your overflow valve was bad?
