Thinking of moving my plate

So far all I have down for mods is air intake and 4" exhaust. Now I'm thinking about moving my stock plate forward I don't have the money to by a new plate but want to do some thing, will a gain much by doing this? I'm not looking to build a hot rod but do want to a get a little more out of it than just stock.

I have just about the same setup as you do. I moved my plate all the way forward and the afc. I also adjusted the starwheel all the way forward.
I gained power no hot rod but it was definatly noticeable and I got some black smoke from the afc and the starwheel forward.
I don't really have the money yet but before I do anything else I am goin to invest in some gauges.

I moved mine all the way forward as well as the AFC. Noticably more power, some smoke off idle. For a good article on adjusting the AFC take a look at the following:

You'll have to scroll down to the posted article.

Grind ur plate for free, the stock plate doesn't do anything that would make u want to keep it stock, so grind a 10 or 100 plate.

Like the other guys said, if you move the plate forward it will start you on something that you will never be able to stop. Believe me, you will be asking for overtime just to buy more stuff, that is what happened to me.

Where is the best place to purchase aftermarket fuel plate?
