thinking about a valet... some ?s

On my new '97 i have the stock clutch (102k miles) i put a 100 plate in it, and it is WICKED. I love it, but im gonna have to be easy if i wanna keep the clutch very long. the truck doesnt have anything else (fuel wise) done to it, so what kind of effect would i get from puttin in a valet switch. from what i've heard it basically cancels out the fuel plate, and i like the idea of being able to turn it off for everyday driving. i havent seen many people do this w/ only a plate, is there a reason for this? thanks.

Not sure on your question exactly, but i have a valet, i dynoed it w/ and wo/
w/ valet on 290 hp w/valet off 432 on a load dyno.

Basically like you said its not using the plate, only dv's and injectors only.

I put my valet on when i get new tires now, or when i got my rear window replaced, i learned the hard way as they took it out for a joy ride once.

I went to Lowes and got a brass fitting with a turn **** to shut it off and on easily, i don't remember the size exactly, best to take off the brass hose fittingon there now and bring the thread size inside to match it. Your basically creating a boost leak if you don't run it back to the intake.

I don't run mine daily on valet on, I did for a while, but it got to boring and felt like a grandma truck. LOL I can't imagine going back to 175hp stock ARGH I don't know how I did without all those years.

I haven't seen any mileage gains or losses on or off, I think if you drive with common sense and keep it under 60, valet or not is not a issue.

Best I can guess its best for is smoke control, heavy footn, god forbid having someone else drive your truck or just babying it. Sorry to say I'm none of the above after bombing it.

ps. in my sig i have a hx40 which has its own wastegate control, if your stock you have that line from the afc to the turbo. You'll need a fitting to match that rubber line to the turbo, Its been done before, and theres kits you can buy to make a valet, I think Piersdiesel had them last i saw. My brass fitting from lowes just vents to the atmosphere,

I put a picture in my gallery, it'll show once it gets approved, good luck.
