starter problem?
starter problem?
hey guys, im having some problems with my starter. for about two months i went through four 40 amp starter fuses(i think its the ignition fuse in the fuse box). they would just blow out when i would turn the key. i would have to get underneath with a screwdriver to the starter in order to get it started.
so, i went a head and put in a 50 amp fuse. it went for about three weeks without a problem.
yesterday i went to hollister hills(off-road park nearby) and at the end of the day, the symptoms came back except the fuse wasnt blown. when i went to start it, it would just "click" and it wouldnt start until i turned the key again.
so i was wondering what the problem might be, do you guys have an idea?
thanks, sal

Have you had the starter apart? Most times the starter contacts are the problem and you can replace them with upgraded parts from Foster Truck. The blown fuse on the start sequence may be due to the contacts or possible short in the brown wire to the starter solenoid.
You could try to swap relays in the PDC.
