starter contacs
I just stopped by the local starter shop in Mt Airy NC, and he has the hvy duty contacs for my starter, he stated there is nothing special to get them and they are $28 installed.I bring him the starter . he even brought one out for me to look at and its the same as Larry B's.

If you can get the starter off yourself you may as well replace the contacts yourself also, it will only add 5 minutes to the job. The guy at the starter shop will probably do it while you wait.

I just did my contacts a few weeks back.
Was easier than oullng the sarter on a small chevy. If you can get your arms in some tight spaces, and have socket extensions and U-joints, couldnt be easier |
Do the contacts yourself. After the starter is removed, it's 3 screws and your there. Besides not a bad idea to look inside and see whats up. Give the plunger (or get a new one) a cleaning as well as the area the contacts sit in and your good to go. Just make sure your contacts sit level (not cocked or crooked).
Good luck, Kevin |
The point was that Foster truck is not the only place to get Heavy duty contacs. The starter is also dragging so I'm going to let then rebuild the whole thing anyway and put the contacts in at the same time.

I got a kit for my old mans 98 from PDR it came with the heavy contacts as well as the plunger
