So I turned up my idle...

And all it took was a bump of the starter to get her going...

But I let her cool down and went back out and it took a teeny bit more than a bump...

But after I shut it down and restarted it, all it took was a bump...

Should I leave it, or go maybe a hair more?

It won't hurt to turn it up a little more. With an auto you would have to worry about clunking when putting it in drive, but with your stick, no worries.

My idle is exactly between the last mark before the 1000 mark and 1000...

Seems to idle a little high...

Is that OK?

Why do these things need adjusted?

the idle adj screw is basically givin the amount of fuel needed to start, basically to low thats why you need to touch the throttle

My truck idles at 950 rpms or so with the AC off at some points, and at 850 rpms at others.. So the higher it is the better off you are. I like it due to less vibrations on the mirrors, I would leave it at 800 or so...

PS with AC on at times its at 750-850 rpms..
