Hey guys (and gals), I removed the silencer ring on my truck and did not notice any difference. Shouldn't it make the turbo louder or give more boost or something?? What are the benefits of removing the ring, and are there any consequences to removing it?

 

the silencer ring is installed for dodge and only dodge no other cummins uses the tone ring all it does is to quite the turbo. thats it, it makes no performance or boost difference other than sound. stock filter wont make much difference. if you wanna hear that turbo scream install a performance intake kit or at least a high flow filter.

 

Try this..

look at the stock air box on the passenger side, you will see a sleeve that connects the box to the actual fender of the truck, pull out the airfilter, and pull out that sleeve and you will hear a difference, the stock airbox muffles alot of the noise out....

want even more noise? BHAF or scotty II with the hole...
