Hey-
I notice a lot of you have removed your silencer ring. Does this help airflow and performance any, or just sound cooler?

 

It sounds a lot cooler, especially if you have a aftermarket air filter. Then you can really hear your turbo sing. And it doesn't do any thing to performance...

 

i took mine out. as far as i'm concerned it makes no difference except as you said it sounds better ;D ;D

 

I took mine out,I have the mega cannon,my right ear rings from deafness anyway,could not stand the wine in my good left ear plus the whinning in the right ear from the deafness and the Boss in the passenger seat ,no horsepower just noise,some like, some don't,goodluck Rick

 

I removed my silencer ring a few years back....the first trip I took across Lookout Pass going eastbound into Montana drove me nuts. I replaced it immediately...its still there.

On the flats, it didn't bother me.

 

Does anyone have an extra laying around they want to get rid of? This turbo sounds like a fog horn! My old 94 never made this much noise. Oh well. If anyone does, let me know...I buy it off ya. Take Care all.

I DO!!.....I DO!! how much you got!!! ;D just kidin! what are they worth? I got one from my 97 yet just laying around in my tool box. If you give me another month to get my project truck in the shop, you can have 2 of them!
