Running new threads in gov. housing
Running new threads in gov. housing
The other day I had a problem starting my truck (acted like not getting fuel) anyhow it turns out that the 2 inside threads that hold the fuel shut off solenoid and the afc housing located on the governer housing are stripped :-X and the shut off solenoid was just hanging there
. My question is what is the best (and safest) way to re-thread the gov housing so I can get my shut off solenoid back on and working. Should I try to use some heal a coil or just drill it and re tap it to the next biggest size?
Wheels

Re:Running new threads in gov. housing
I would just drill and tap providing there is enough meat left in the pump and housing.
Just be real careful about shavings.
Not that you didn't know that.

Re:Running new threads in gov. housing
Well as I was looking at it yesterday it looked as though there wasnt a whole lot of meat left to re thread into >
. So I found the next size up, in a stadard bolt, and just got it started and it treaded itself the rest of the way in ;D ;D. I was able to torque it down plenty tight and if it turns out that I have to re thread it anyhow all I will have to do is use the tap and the next biggest metric bolt. Thanks for the advice anyways.
Wheels
