rpm to mph to tire size to mpg
rpm to mph to tire size to mpg
OK so the truck was shaking so bad I had to take a day off work and actually take care of the vehicle. What I ended up doing was... new sway bar link kits on the front, new rotors (oe aftrmarkt) an alignment and half a set of tires. I decided to only get 2 tires because other things had to get fixed instead of 4 new tires.
So my question is this... I went from 265/75r16 on stock chrome rims to 285/75r16 tires. I had kuhmos... and the local shop had primewells that I could afford. I went from all terrain to highway due to roadnoise. This is a daily driver for me. 120miles a day 6 days a week.
BEFORE i was at 18.5mpg on the 265's... hitting 2000rpm at 65mph.
Now.... what have other people got for making this tire change in the way of efficiency? Or handling?
Im curious at my next fillup to see what I am getting. Thanks.
The contact patch on the 285's is quite a bit bigger than the 265's... I can actually feels the difference already.
AND i have the auxiliary rancho steering damper... but no kit to attach it, anybody know where i can get off the shelf elbow to attach this thing with?
