replaced volt regulator
replaced volt regulator
replaced volt reg as per Haulin_In_Dixie friday but i am still getting check engine light.
ran the three key cycle and getting the codes:
12 battery disconnected
41 or 42 ?? shorted or open altenator (didn't write them down)
and 55 end of codes
any ideas??
used a new 79 dodge reg $8.00 and a
repair pigtail harness for the 79 voltage reg $5.88 standard P/N S-573
that makes making regulator connections easier and I didn't have to try and find a used one.
My voltage has been very stable for a change so far. and replacing the CPS seems to have fixed
my torque converter/4TH shift problems I hope. time will tell for sure.
thanks
mel

The 12 just means the battery has been disconnected some time in the last 50 starts and the 41 will be permanent since the PCM no longer regulates the alt.
Something else could have set a hard code whose problem no longer exists, it will take 50 start/stop key cycles to cancel it.
