rear disc for dana 80
if its anything like a D70, the axle housings are different. im building a disc D70 and i originally thought i could take backing plates off and mount caliper frames on in their place NOT THE CASE. the axle flanges for mounting backing plate are the wrong bolt pattern and FAR flimsier. Like i said this is a D70 so not 100% sure bout the D80 but i cant imagine it being any different
I got a 2001.5 Dana 70 disc brake, 3.54, Posi rear-end out of a Ark. salvage yard a couple of years ago. Here's the Thread I posted when I installed it:

The Street Rod Mfg. Co. makes a kit for Dana 80 rears, both single rear wheel and dually rear wheel.

Try to get a 2001.5+ rear disc Dana. I wasted mucho buckeroos on EGR Brakes rear disc conversion. Results were: marginally better stopping power, increased pedal travel and a lousy parking brake. This was on my '98.5.

You have to keep the parking brake adjusted, correctly, on these disc brake axles.
Many adjust the tensioner and not the shoes which leads to a failure.
Otherwise it is just as good as a drum parking brake setup, which it actually is, just smaller.

D 80 rear disc
((( Lugnut4x4.com)))) has kits with everything you need for single wheel or dually Dana 80 8x6.5 and Dana 70 8x6.5 and 8 X 6.5 lug trailer Axles. Good luck it's cheaper to buy the rotors, calipers , park cables and hoses for a 2001.5 year dodge which only comes with a D80 and rear disc Brakes from factory and make your own caliper bracket
