hi
well cold weather seems to cause the end cap on my radiator to leak during warm up, driver side only !
sooo i think i saw a hand tool someware you can buy to recrimp the end cap / tank to stop this from happining !

anyone know where to get the tool ?

not to sure on the tool. its been my experience that additives only delay the inevitable. usually when you get an end cap or tank leak on the rad your best bet is to replace the rad altogether. if your budget is a lil bit tight you might try some plastic weld epoxy or a bit of jb weld around the tank. if you take that route make sure you let whatever it is you use to fully cure

Don't usually have good luck with tank repairs. When mine leaked, I got a new from Napa, like $300 with my discount, took 6 beers and about an hour to change!

I got another year out of my old one with a pair of channel locks and some silicone.

Replaced mine back in July because the plastic end tank had cracked. Took about 2 hours, would've been an easy job but I had to go buy a tool to get that spring clamp off the lower hose. Paid $160 at napa.

I've changed the end tank on mine once. I bought it new from a local well know radiator company: Radac Still working like a charm. I used my buddies end tank tool, but I think all you would need is a pair of channel locks.

Be sure to air it up and soap when you are tryin to crimp it back together to check for air leaks

Yeah, the spring clamp tool was around 30 bucks, so you're probably right, but I think the spring clamps are better & I wanted to re-use the old one.

my xp in spring clamps is they do just fine as long as they havent been tweaked. usually when i take them off they bend outta shape so i wind up replacing them. i believe that tool you bought is specifically designed to not do that to those clamps. to each his own...if theyre workn for ya no need to change them

I've had excellent luck with the old style radiator stop leak made of ground up aluminum.
Forget the name but most auto parts have it.
I have a JD tractor whose $1200 radiator got speared by a branch over 20 years ago.
Stop leak is still working after all these years and several coolant change/flushes later.
I wouldn't hesitate for a second to use it on my Rams if needed.

Yep, that's it.
I see by googling it that they also have a liquid type.
I personally wouldn't use it. The ground up aluminum type worked so well for me.
Start out with just a quarter tube and work your way up if necessary.
