Quest for silence

A friend of mine has a 97 12V QC LB - and he pulls horse trailers here in the alps.
With a lot of tunnels- the horses go quite mad because the sound is reflected from the tunnel wall into the horse trailer.
Since the truck has a GSK and a plate I think that it would greatly benefit from better than stock flow, but we need to shush it.
My thinking was a 4" exhaust with a resonator and a Donaldson M100580, naturally with reducers to the 4" of the rest of the system.
So, has anybody built somethiing like that? Did it work fine?
Any alternatives that you built and that you like or dislike?

Thanks!

Using the Donaldson, you shouldn't need a resonator and it'll make it much more quiet.

Do you think we can get more quiet than stock? And maintain better than stock flow?

My resonator exhaust

May be that your friend already did this, if so let us know how it went!

Here's what worked for me, for the same reason
